Affiliate Disclosure
We earn commissions when you buy through links on our site. Here's exactly how it works.
How affiliate links work on this site
Most product links on LongevityTech Lab are Amazon Associates affiliate links. When you click one, two things happen:
- You're taken to the exact product page on Amazon.com (you see the same price, same product, same experience as any other Amazon visit).
- Amazon sets a 24-hour tracking cookie. If you buy anything on Amazon within that 24-hour window, we receive a small commission (typically 1-10% of the purchase price, depending on the product category).
You pay the same price whether you use our link or go directly to Amazon. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your wallet.
Our Amazon Associates ID
Our tracking ID is wattsage47-20. If you inspect any Amazon link on this site, you'll see it appended as ?tag=wattsage47-20 in the URL. This is required by Amazon's Operating Agreement.
How affiliate revenue affects (and doesn't affect) our reviews
This is the most important thing to understand:
- Commission rate does NOT affect ranking. Amazon pays different commission rates for different categories (e.g., 4% on wearables, 8% on supplements). We do not preferentially recommend high-commission products. Our "best overall" picks are chosen on merit.
- We recommend non-affiliate products when appropriate. Some products we mention (e.g., Whoop) are not sold on Amazon. We still mention them when they're relevant, even though we earn no commission. Editorial integrity matters more than a few dollars.
- We accept no paid placements. Brands cannot pay us to be featured, ranked higher, or added to a "best of" list.
- We do not accept review units. We buy the products we review at retail, just like you do.
Display advertising
In addition to affiliate links, we run display ads (currently Google AdSense, with plans to upgrade to Mediavine as traffic grows). Ads are clearly labeled as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored" and never appear as fake content. We never accept payment to publish advertorials or sponsored content disguised as editorial.
Other affiliate disclosures
Per FTC guidelines, our affiliate disclosure appears:
- At the top of every article that contains affiliate links (clearly visible callout box)
- On this dedicated disclosure page (linked from the footer of every page)
- In the
rel="nofollow sponsored noopener"attribute on every affiliate link (Google-compliant machine-readable disclosure)
Amazon Associates Operating Agreement
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Our participation in the Amazon Associates program is governed by the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement. We do not display Amazon prices, claim Amazon endorsements, or use Amazon trademarks in ways not permitted by the agreement.
